Well, I love all these answers - but think of this - I am single, pretty much a loner, with little family. Go vacationing alone?

You could "donate" $600 to the "Save my '91 Grand Am from the Junkyard Fund." Alternatively, $6000 toward the "Buy me a '99 Corolla Fund" would not go unappreciated.

Seriously though, this is a big opportunity to give to charity. Haven't you ever seen one of those stories on the news where you wish you could swoop in and save the day? Like a five-year-old who needs a kidney transplant and the parents are having a fund raiser to come up with the money before it's too late? Or somebody trying to build a homeless shelter, but they're up against a deadline to raise the funds and it looks like they're not going to make it? Maybe there's a school you know of that could use some help. You could set up a scholarship fund at your old college, or set up an endowment for your church.

If you're a public radio listener, you must be annoyed by those fund raisers they do: "We'll return you to regular programming if we can get just $1000 more for this hour. The number to call is 515-555-0000. Once again that number is....once again that number is...." You could call them up and say, "How much would it cost to get you to shut your cake hole for the rest of the day?" Wouldn't that feel great?

I'm sure you can think of plenty of things buy yourself with that money, but you could really do some lasting good by giving at least some of it to those in need. "Operators are standing by....."
