How can i find out if a tune is copyrighted without contacting the artist/ composer?

Im planning to make a music video for something in college work next year. Im not alowed to use a song that is copyrighted but i have found a tune that i want to use, but i need to find out if it is copyrighted or not. How do i do that? Please help.

ps. without seeing if they have been dead for a certain amount of time, or if the tune has been out for over 50 years.

The tune is called : 'Take me to your heart.' A group called 'Michael likes to rock' sung it, but it originated from a chineese guy.

If the composer has not been dead for 75 years then it is still in copyright.
Find out who wrote it, and google them.
