They where overrated in the 80s and even more overrated now.
Yes, they have done some awesome songs but any professional band with that much material should be able to do that. Even Ian Brown has done 1 good solo song and he has no talent at all! When I look at their entire back catalogue it just looks a bit like "so whats the fuss about". Now, kids see them as rock gods when all they are is a decent band that's been going for a while.
On most songs James' voice is too forced and Kirks solos keep hinting at a good player flapping around not knowing what to do.
Just my opinion, I'm sure most people disagree.
