Muse at Wembley, were they awesome?!

Question:

Muse at Wembley, were they awesome?

Did anyone see them? I saw them in Hong Kong last month and they absolutely rocked! I was gutted that I couldn't make it to the massive Wembley shows. If anyone wants to tell me all about it and make me very, very jealous, please go ahead.

Thanks.

Just have to point out, the concert in Hong Kong was in March and not last month as I'd mentioned earlier.

grpr1964 thanks for the detail...ok, here are your points.

Answers:

Muse were better than brilliant. I saw them on Saturday night. Unfortunately the acoustics at the new Wembley Stadium are pretty poor, so sitting through hours of support acts was like listening through mud... (Rodriguez y Gabriela were pretty good; The Streets were boring). But Muse somehow managed to transcend this. The most pompous stage entry ever, rising from a pit in front of the stage to the strains of Prokofiev's Romeo & juliet, complete with an entourage of guys that looked like they were dressed (from where we were sitting, which was miles away) in bright yellow chemical warfare suits. They kicked in hard with Knights of Cydonia as an opener, and played most of the stuff from their latest album plus loads of stuff from their back-catalogue. Not a duff track amongst them, nor any technical glitches or gaps. They were brilliant visually too. Included a pretty impressive acrobatic thing dangling from balloons over the audience. Clearly, from watching the big screens, these guys were enjoying themselves, and boy are these guys great musicians (mixing electric and acoustic guitars with piano, trumpets, vocals, etc with ease). My only disappointment was that they did not play my favourite ("Bliss").

Jealous??? or do I get 10 points?!?
