How reliable is musiciansfriend.com?
I found a great guitar for only $164.99 but I am worried that it's too easy. Has anyone bought off of this site? How was the product? Thanks.

Extremely reliable. I've been buying on and off from them for over almost 10 years between them and guitar center and sometimes sweetwater. MF typically has the best deals on new equipment. Since I dont have stores around me to check gear out and the fact that the only mail I can get is APO because of where I work and they have sent me everything I've ordered on time. I've ordered Jackson, Fender Eric Johnson strat, Godin nylon electric, and a Michael Kelly custom all of them arrived in mint condition. They take great care in their shipping. I defintely put them in the same league as amazon.com but for music instruments. Per their site they are a member of biz rate which shows accountability.

The have a 89% approval rating from their customers which is probably not fair because theres going to be a percentage of those people complaining who are unwilling to admit their own faults like not understanding what they heck theyre buying. Look up whatever gear your getting online and read about it as much as possible, also go to local stores if you can to check it out, and specifically go to this site for reviewes: http://www.harmony-central.com/guitar/...
Also another good online company thats similar to musicians friend is sweetwater.com. Sweetwater is probably more personal then MF but at the same time most of their gear is high end. But if you like personal service where you've got an assigned sales guy, maybe sweetwater or even a guitar center is the way to go. Good luck
