I had one for when my friend was turning 14

Of course, we had it at my house, but we had my mom call her and ask if she could "babysit" my brother that night. She said yes of course. My mom picked her up while my friends and I all gathered in our basement with the lights off. When they got to the house, they walked inside and my mom told my friend that my brother was downstair playing xbox, so the lights would be off and she could go ahead down. Not even thinking, she came down and we scared the living daylights out of her. We had dinner and hung out the rest of the night.

So, for you, if you can't do it, if she/he babysits someone, you could have the surprise there and then go to a park. Or, get her/his parents involved. Ask them for ideas. They would be able to help a bit. I don't think a park would be cheezy if you could figure out a good way to surprise them.

Things you could do are go to a drive in movie, go swimming, go to a base ball game, have a sleep over, go to a pottery place, go to an amusement park, etc.
Hope I helped!
