GLASTONBURy!!!?!

GLASTONBURy!!!?

my dad got me a free ticket for glasto this year, im so excited! im 15, never been before, not really sure what to expect. i'm gonna be in the grounds for nearly two weeks, anyone who's been before have any recommendations etc for what to expect and what to pack?

As a seasoned Glastonbury Veteran I'd advise packing for both extremes of weather! Plenty of Sunblock and a few hats, and good waterproofs and wellies!
Don't bother with taking anything valuable as there is still theiving going on within the festival even though it's much improved and more secure than previously.
Avoid taking digital cameras, ipods etc as they will attract thieves. Get a disposable camera and pass the time with a book(more about this later!). Apart from changes of clothes there's not a lot you need really, there's plenty to do and see before and after the festival. If you need to take a mobile see if you can borrow a cheap one and as you'll find it hard to find somewhere to charge it keep it switched off unless needed and arrange an hour a day it will be on so friends & family can contact you then. The only network that is capable of dealing with the high volume of use during the festival is Orange as they place a transmitter on site for the festival, all other networks get swamped and it's very difficult to make or receive a call on.

I assume you're going to be doing some sort of work on site if you are there for a fortnight, having donme this myself I'd highly reccomend this, as it's a great way to do the festival and you get to meet lots of people too. This is the first time in over 10 years I've not volunteered to work as a volunteer, this is because I'm actually going as a trader and will be having a secondhand book stall on C market, so pop in and pick up some cheap reading for the quiet times!
