Hello I own the Dano Pro...I also tried the 59 and didn't hear a tremendous amount of difference...it's more your preference towards the square-ish shape or the rounded shape,that would be the main issue.As for style they are best suited for,woul depend on your own creativity...not for metal thrashing for sure.Great for surf,rockabilly,country,blues etc...but with some delay I can coax some sweet U2ish type sounds and rather ethereal tones...i love it clean,great for jazz chords,punk and new wave as well....be open to the possibilities...and let's face it,a guitar should LOOK cool, and nothing turns heads faster that hitting the stage with a dano strapped on it's too cool for school and I love the sound as well..it sounds as retro as it looks,but if you are looking for glassy shimmering sustain for days...keep looking,but this thing can twang like a tele and has a very unigue sound,but either the 59 or dano pro should make you happy,if for nothing more than the attention it will bring your band
