Question:

What bodytype of wood is best for high gain sounds guitar wise?

I know i may already know this question's answer but i'm curious i'm planning to get a EMG 81 loaded ESP LTD but maybe theres better options for under 600 clams?

Answers:

Guitar woods will not provide a change in gain, but it will change the tone and sustain. I will asume that you are only interested in solid woods instead of one wood with a different top.

For the greatest in tone and sustain, soft maple is the best, next is hard maple (neither maple is actually soft), then comes ash, then mahogany, then alder.
