I need to know what's on the internet to help a new musician...?
Someone gave me a cool web site for new musicians to connect with music labels...what is more good advice
I need to know how you would go about BECOMING the artist you want to be...I'm a rapper / comedian...I do raps and funny, novelty songs...
Help me on either front!
Answers:
Try signing up at Last.fm, myspace, etc...make videos/music and post them on youtube. Then do yer shows, tell everyone you meet about the video's/music, and where they can find it (everyone here also means people other than your friends, based on network theory, you'll have to find "weak social links" to really spread your work). If continue long enough, and people like your work(!) and forward it to their friends, the labels will come to you sooner or later...
