A question about Wacken Open Air Festival...?
For anybody who is familiar with it, my friends and I are planning on making the international trip to W.O.A. '08. I just want to know what the usual cost is for tickets to the show, even if it's just a guess.
Answers:
A very reasonable 99 euros.
Getting there on an organised coach trip is the easiest and cheapest way, and unless you've got people with disabilities you should camp. This is just easier: you don't need to navigate the trains from Hamburg or queue for connecting coaches (Wacken itself is VERY remote).
If you do book return flights from Hamburg, give yourself a whole day or more to get there. Everybody tries to leave at the same time, and it's chaos. Last year I flew from the UK with Swiss Air via Zurich, and Met Celtic Frost on the plane. This was the only pleasant part of my journey.
When you get there, you'll find everybody friendly, all the facilities are good, food and drink is cheap and there are two giant stages of the truest metal. Heaven!
