Question:
Has anyone ever heard of a North American or European indoor nightclub that consisted mainly of a swim-up bar?
I guess one other person has asked a similar question about the feasibility, but it seems to me that most of the concerns have been dealt with by resorts down south. Even with minimal supervision down there, there are rarely any incidents (and obviously a bar up here would be supervised constantly). Barfing occurs rarely, and peeing is gross but technically harmless (no different from any pool). It seems to me that the bar would have to keep the lights on (for both lifeguarding and discouraging sexual activity), but if there were a tropical, humid atmosphere with heat-lamps and all, I can't see patrons having much of a problem. Anyway, I think it might have the potential to be a mad success, if the insurance companies could be convinced to cover it! Anyway, just looking for feedback, paricularly about any similar bars that exist and/or have flopped in the past. Thanks!

this seems to be common in the Caribbean. my friend went to jamaica and told me about this where he stayed. of course the place he went to was some swingers resort and there was usually some pretty interesting stuff going on there. sounds risque
