Question:
On average how long does it take to learn to move between chords on the guitar comfortably and quickly?
I practise for half an hour to an hour everyday and I havent been playing for long, but how long will it take before I can move from an A to a G (for example) quickly and in time to the song I am learning. Is there a specific way to move or will it just come naturally with practise?
Answers:
I have played the guitar since I was 12 and now I am 40, so I've been playing a fair while now LOL.
The secret to it is to practise all you can. I practised for 4-5 hours a day every day. Practise makes perfect and you will discover this in a little while.
Once you have mastered A to G, move on to the same chord change blindfolded. A good guitarist should be note perfect even blindfolded. If I had gone blind yesterday, I would still be able to play as good as before.
Listening to other guitar players on Cds will you give you a good idea as to how they play. Each has their own style and you will develope yours in time.
Remember, you are on a never-ending journey of learning. Even the best guitarists in the world learn something new every day. Have a great journey. X
