It would depend if they are talking about the paint style or the body style.

Based off of your questions the flying V standard would be the regular shape of the V;compared to a Randy rhoads model which is cut away at one side of the V. A Flying V Faded to me means the paint job is made to seem as if it is older than what it really is. A faded color. Check out that web site and search around.
