Where To Go For Great Customer Service In The UK?
As someone who runs a business in the service industry I can honestly say that the standard of customer service in the UK is at an all time low. Whether it be shops, public services, you name it, employees of many organisations are not representing their employer in a good light, with shoddy treatment of customers.
So my question is. Where can you go for great customer service in the UK? Also where is the worst customer service in the UK?
Answers: Well you may laugh but my local branch of Focus and Woolies have the best customer service...nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Which can be said for most of the shops in peterhead...just a pity the place is a dump.
I do think that some of the service we get in the UK is absolutely abysmal and would not be tolerated in the States. I met an American couple visiting Scotland and they were appalled by the service and the price of everything in the UK.
I had to apologise and explained that not everywhere was bad though everything was expensive because of the exchange rate of the dollar against the pound. Comet is pretty good depending on which branch u visit. to be honest why should employees in shops etc be all happy smiley all day when reality is most employers (the fat cats at the top) don't do anything to make us feel that we should be the great employees they want us to be? (low pay, expected to do more than is reasonable) to be honest, its **** working with the public, getting complaints all day etc... TV licencing worst; as if you have a TV you must have a licence and can only get it from them so they don't care. i've been working in the customer service section for some time now and i am known to have the patience of a saint and have passed with flying colours in customer care, but even i have to bite my tongue regularly. quite a few of the customers these days seem to think they have a royal status the way they expect everything for nothing instantly, nothings ever good enough and they moan to no end because they act like they are your employer.
