What is the best thing to use to clean guitar strings?!

For maintenance cleaning (meaning your strings are ok prior to cleaning), use a smooth rag/cloth that doesn't have fibrous strands that can get caught between the strings. I suggest the cleaning cloth used for car polishing. That's what i use.

For cleaning dirty/rusty strings, use some WD40. You can buy that in any hardware shop. Put a little amount on the cloth suggested above and run it along the strings.

Note: Make sure you clean all around the strings, including the underside.

Good luck
rubbing alcohol.
but don't get it on the body of the guitar.
