Can someone recommend any good movies? old/new?!

Question: My husband watches the worst movies, seriously, these movies are so lame and boring I dont even think the actors in them would want to see them.
I am not cutting him down as he & I do not know what any good movies are these days, can someone tell us what would be good to watch.
thanks!
(we live in the backwoods and have no TV so we have to watch only DVD or interent movies, if that helps! and soon we will have indoor plumbing wooohoo, cant wait to experience that, haha! kidding)

Without knowing the Genre that you both like it is hard to recommend anything.
I like War movies, Sci Fi, Westerns.
One of my favourites is "Dune" 1984
See link below.

See how many names in the cast you recognise

i heart huckabees

it would help if you would name some of the movies he likes, and some of the movies that you like, describing them as "boring" could be just about anything.

I prefer older movies...
action flix such as "The Karate Kid", still get watched in my house. "Only the strong" is a good one too.

Transformers is coming out on DVD soon too.

Disturbia is on Payper View, perhaps it's on DVD now, that was a good movie.

If you want chick flicks,
never been kissed
music and lyrics
fried green tomatoes

musicals
chicago
rent
shrek
west side story
les miserables

Last week i watched Evan Almight. It was a comedy and actually was pretty funny. Also if you like action (i'm sure the hubby does) The Condemned with Stone Cold Steve Austin was excellent.

Stranger Than Fiction. It was much better than I'd expected.

wat about the notebook i love that movie

Harold and Kumar
Grandma's Boy
American Pie
pretty much anything with sex and drugs.

300
Disturbia
The Italian Job
Pirates of the Carribean, all 3

I found a website that shows movies that have been in theaters, but not out on video yet

Since it's close to Halloween some good horror/thrillers: Clockwork Orange, Devil's Rejects, American Psycho, Halloween (1 & 2), The Hills Have Eyes, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Saw, Frailty,

Misc(Off the top of my head): Wedding Crashers, Napoleon Dynamite, Fight Club, Bad News Bears, Gone in 60 Seconds

Clockwork Orange re; above me is a real good one that would appeal to you I think.
I'm not much of a movie man, but Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry movies were good as were the man with no name ones Hang em high, Fistful of Dollars

the wedding singer

pirates of the caribbean trilogy, sleepless in seattle, the notebook, kill bill vol 1&2, the fast and the furious, just married, walk the line, along came polly, wedding crashers, blow, in her shoes, .....so many movies..so little time

pulp fiction-my fav

You can't go wrong with a John Wayne movie.

But you were not specific about the nature of movies you intend or you want your husband to watch. I suggest you just pick any one and watch and with time, you will be conversant with good movie and what makes a movies good.

Besides, good movies depends on individual rating due to choices and desires of the individual concerned.

Good luck

I recomend the Prestigue (did I speel that right).

my kids like shawn of the dead. wild hogs and blades of glory, were funny. michael and multiplicity are older but i like them.
