Question: I believe that the (reverse) discrimination involving Asian students has to do with the fact that in some parts of Asia, if you study music, it's not just a self-improvement thing, but is taken very seriously. As a result, the Asian student we see here are always the cream of the crop, so to speak,. and we get the impression that all Asian are geniuses.
But I am sure there are just as many dumb people in China (say) than in America; we just don't see them enrolled in our graduate schools.
