What do youi think about people talking on the cell phone while they are diving !

Question: My friend was ridng his bike and a woman talking on the cell phone hit him and broke his leg. She then ran from the crowded scene but was caught later. I think it is ok to talk on the phone if you are talking about something breifly and important,if it will take longer or if you cannot keep up with the speed limit pull over.

Agree. It's so irritating to find someone running 10-15 mph under the speed limit, in the fast lane, just talking on the phone & trying to drive with 1 hand. Like they own the freakin' world. Pigs.

I hate people who talk on the phone while driving. It really gets me mad.

I do it all the time. But it really isnt safe. I try not to but sometimes I need to. If they have to slow down thay probably should pull over. :)

i hate it, that and old people who cut you off

well first u have to be responsible with ur cell phone wile driveing most people arnt i think as long as u dont abuse it u should keep is

I hope that it is water-proof if someone is talking on it while diving!!!

I WISH I HAD SOME KIND OF DEVICE TO BLOW THE PHONE UP IN THEIR EAR..

It's really fricken annoying...and then when you try to pass them they speed up. URGHHH!

I think the majority of people who do this are mindless...
I'm not much of a phone conversationalist but when I've been called while driving, after I hang up I don't remember the driving I did while talking.

Sad pathetic mindless gossip is the primary use for incessant cell phone use. New York's got the right idea with their no cell while driving laws... no grid lock is a good one too.

i think it's impossible to dive and have a conversation on your cell

I don't think it's acceptable to talk on a cell phone while driving at all. Although the talkers/drivers don't realize it, they are distracted from the huge responsibility of safely driving a motorized vehicle that could, as your friend can confirm, injure or even kill someone. Not only do they drive slow, but I've seen cell phone driver/talkers run red lights, not use turn signals, swerve or switch lanes suddenly, speed, etc. Some places have outlawed it. I hope your friend recovers fully, and sues the a55 off the hit and run driver!

***I AGREE WITH YOU. THAT IS TRAGIC THAT YOUR FRIEND WAS THE VICTIM OF A HIT AND RUN, BUT AT LEAT THEY CAUGHT HER. JUST LIKE SPEEDING, DRIVING TOO SLOWLY CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AS WELL, AND BEING ON THE PHONE ONLY EXASERBATES THE SITUATION. IT'S NEVER A GOOD IDEA TO BE ON THE PHONE FOR A LONG PERIIOD OF TIME WHILE DRIVING.***
