If you really think about it, if you would laminate a clock, what would happen? The hands on the clock wouldn't be able to move. He is saying he feels lazy and sluggish sometimes.
Think you might have misunderstood him. If there was another girl on the other side of this gentleman he might have remarked that he felt like a laminated cockerel with a bird on both sides.

Laminated clock, meaning no one can change time. Meaning the time is always the same. So if he sleeps all day, he wouldn't care about the time of day because its always the same to him.
He was probably dreaming when he said that, when my boyfriend is asleep, sometimes he says weird or incomprehensible things either to himself or me (not really sure who he is talking too...). I think the guy was just still in "la la land" when he said it.
I think that's just another way to say that he was horny.
