A question for the oldies fans...?!

Question: Do you think Ricky Nelson would have become a star if it hadn't been for his famous parents (Ozzie and Harriet) and the exposure he got on national TV?

Probably not; if not for his (at that time) famous parents. There were lots of more talented performers around at that time.

no. many people get breaks like that. You'd never hear of carly simon if her folks were not mega rich.

No.He was like a thousand other wannabe's.That show gave him his door to the future.

This was somewhat before my time, but no. His parents handed him fame on a silver platter.

hmmmmmmmmm.........I thought he was a star! I always hear his songs on the oldies station. Poor Little Fool, Lonesome town, Travelin Man, Many more! We older people always talk about him as a bigger star on the Ozzie N Harriet show than his folks. His brother David wasn't as popular although he tried. Ricky was a really good singer and cute too.

I'm not sure. He was talented but being on a weekly TV show that made him a teen heart throb had to have helped a lot. For some reason "Poor Little Fool" is running through my head now!

no

I do but it may have taken him longer...he was good looking and a good singer!!!

Forget Ozzie, he's a drunk twat.
Shakira rocks.
