Pirates of The Caribbean sounds like a great theme.... are you sure they'd laugh at you?

You could also think about the things you like to read and write. It kinda depends on how big of a party it will be and what the budget is... But if there's something you really like to read, you might be able to create a theme around that without them even really knowing it. This might be a bad example, but if you like to read Shakespeare you could have a party themed around that time in history. Sort of that type of thing... draw your inspiration from whatever you like to read.

You could also think about the time of year. If your bat mitzvah is really soon, you could have a costume party and let ppl come in whatever costume they want... like a masquerade. That way you could dress as whatever you want, and other ppl could do the same. Or if the party will be more in the winter, when it's colder, you could have a "Winter Wonderland" theme.

You can also think about tv shows and other movies you like - maybe one of those could give you inspiration. Like the movie Across the Universe just came out, which was awesome and all about the 60's.... you could have a 50's, 60's, or 70's themed party really easily.

Ok, hope some of that helps you! Just remember: its YOUR party, so do what you want and don't worry about what other ppl think!

Hey, it's your bat mitzvah. I suggest you do what YOU want to do- not what your friends want. If they'd laugh at you, then you probably don't need friends like that anyway. It's YOUR party and YOUR life- if you start trying to please people at an early age and basically sell-out, then you'll never really be happy. Do what YOU want to do and do it for yourself. Have fun.
