For people who play the trombone...?!

Question: i play the trombone, and by the end of my band class, i always get a big ring around my lips - and it's so annoying! especially when i have to walk through the crowded halls right after, and its kinda embarrassing since others dont know what it is from. is there any way to prevent it?

The only way to prevent it is to not push your mouth so hard against the mouthpiece. I played trombone from the time I was 10 years old and never really had a problem with it (only sometimes during long marching rehearsals). But if you're straining against the mouthpiece to play higher notes or louder then you'll get that ring and yes it'll be annoying but it'll go away and you just have to deal with it.

nope. you just get used to it. and yeah eventually it will go away.

IT MEANS YOU HAVE A DIRTY MOUTH PIECE.

When I was a trombone player back in the day I used to wack the trumpet players in the head with it because they were in front of me it was fun.
