What guitar would you recommend?!

Question: 50% of the time i play indie-esque rock (nothing heavy) the other 50% of the time i play a whole slew of other stuff, a bunch of random things from metal to pop.
i was going to get an american telecaster, but they are kind of limited. so what do you think i should get?

I think a Telecaster is an excellent choice (although simple, you can actually get a lot of sounds out of them including very heavy). I also love Gibson SG's for the same reason. If you have to have a whammy bar get a Strat, but they do go out of tune much faster.

Fender Stratocaster (kidding)

i have a electric guitar and i can play almost anything on there from metal to classic rock or pop. If you know how to play and are familiar with the guitar then i would go for that one. Theres no reason to limit yourself with just a basic acustic guitar when you can play everything on an electric. Just try it out and see what best works for your type of music =)

ibanez iceman 400 with set neck. they shred, and look better than the rest.

cheers!

Don't get a Telecaster. The sound is way too thin. You're better off with something with humbucker style pickups. Alternatively a Strat style guitar with an effects pedal such as a Tech21 Sans Amp GT2.

It sounds to me you know your guitars, However the nane does not always make it the best choice. Anyone who knows anything about guitars, hear the name Gibson,or Fender. Yet my choice is to visit the places where guitars are plentful and hold it ,play it and the one that you feel more comfortable with will make itself known. Thats the one to buy . That is if you are a person who loves the sound of six strings singing in harmoney with each other! To sum this up one of the best guitars i have ever played was a yamaha acoustic. I suppose its because i love country and it brought out everything that was country in me! ITS, not the cost its what it will bring out in YOU!

there are so many 2 choose from. the fender stratocaster is a good guitar maybe a gibson les paul. but if you like to play indi i would recomend a rickenbacker i think thats how u spell it.
