As a hip hop lifer...yes it is getting lame. RUssell Simmons does not even listen to hip hop anymore becuz of it. That is a sign man.

What happened? Radio and copy cat "MCs." instead of thier own style they do what is working on the radio. THAT IS LAME. Record companies sign these artists based on what is playing today, hoping to capitalize on what is popular now. Remember The Franchise Boyz...copy cat of Boyz in Da Hood. Remember Foxy brown....copies from Lil Kim. Its all over the place for the last 10 years. A beat, a hook and a video. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Hip Hop has been lame for some years now. Ever since the losers from the South of the Mason-Dixon line decided they can rap. Now we get such hits as "Crank Dat!", "Wobble Wobble", "My Lip Gloss", and other bullshit *** raps. Bring back Nas, Tupac, Biggie and the rest of the 80s and 90s, hip hop

Thanks to the Dirty South, hip hop (if that is what you wanna calll it now) is totally lame. Scott La Rock, and Jam Master Jay, Tupac, and Biggie (R.I.P brothas) have got to be turning in their graves. I'm so sick of these bubble gum a** rappers and these one hit wonders, I just don't know what to do with myself.

rap/hip hop has become very comercialized. it is no longer about current world problems. its about what the current generation WANTS to hear. they dont want to think about wars and things they want to listen to something they like such as money and cars.
