Pick a side: students should have homework or no homework?!

Question: explain your reasoning

Answers: explain your reasoning

why is this in entertainment?

I think that if a teacher can't teach a student in the classtime alloted, they are not doing their jobs.

In 99% of my classes, I learn way more through homework then listening to my teachers lecture me for an hour.

Come to think of it, I don't think I learn hardly anything in my math without doing my homework.

yes, but no where near what most kids get.

a lot of things you learn, you learn through repetition, so even though a teacher can thoroughly teach something like addition in class, it wont be cemented into your brain unless you do a bunch of problems over and over again.

students sould have homework so they can see where students need help

homework...practice makes perfect

Students should have homework. The teacher can only provide the information but it is the student that must process and understand it. If there were no home work how can a teacher tell if the students understands what is being taught? Also, through additional study on their own time students can learn much more then what is required for a class.

Homework is necessary and helpful. Students build essential skills, both in academic subjects and in work ethic, when they are required to complete take-home assignments. Also homework gives parents an understanding of what their child is learning in class. The parents can also know what their child is learning by kids taking home their class work.

***HOMEWORK IS NECESSARY BECAUSE IT ENFORCES WHAT WAS DISCUSSED IN CLASS THAT DAY, AND LECTURES ARE GOOD BUT YOU DON'T ALWAYS RETAIN ALL THE INFORMATION NECESSARY IN A LECTURE. HOMEWORK GIVES US PRACTICE, ESPECIALLY IN MATH. STUDYING IS A GOOD THING, FOR THIS IS HOW WE RETAIN AND COMPREHEND INFORMATIONS.***
