We don't live in the '50's anymore, it's totally acceptable for a girl to ask. If he thinks it's not, he's not someone you want to be with.

well depends how far away it is soo if its soon just casually ask so who are you going with but if its a couple of weeks away just wait and see cus he should ask you

well it depends how far away the dance is because if it is still far away, he will ask. If you think it is getting to close to the event (probably 2-3 weeks I would say) then you casually brinf up the dance in conversation.
i think its better that you wait for him to ask you cos he should make you feel wanted and if he won't ask then you shouldn't be with him.
you deserve better person.
