Don't buy from Target, if your gonna a cheaper one just go buy one of those Yamaha packs that come with the amp the chord and a guitar and a book and picks all sorts of stuff those are good to get or you can get the acoustic packs too those are also good they come with everything you need to start. They cost $150-$300 so they aren't to expensive.
i would say the starcaster electric pack... you dont wanna spend a whole lot on your first guitar... unless youve already had one and you know you like to play and are somewhat good and not goin to give up... i just played around with a lil junker until i started to get good then i went out and bought a newer one..

even for a first guitar i wouldn't buy it from a supermarket chain shop. Go down to your local music store and they'll help you out or goto a pawn shop n' buy something used
