Question: Based on human nature I'd say no. There are always folks who think they look better, have a better house, opinion, etc. Even if they didn't know how much they had, they would visially see they might have more than another and create friction.

Well..... certain ethnic tribes in Africa and South America who have no words for numbers over 5 seem to have survived rather well, so you may have a point there!
