I quite agree - i cried at that program!
He is a wonderful singer and so humble with it - just to think we could have missed out on this fabulous talent on the toss of a coin!
Those operatic "experts" have no idea what a regular person is interested in musically - they have their own little clique and it sounds like "woe betide anyone who tries to invade our tight circle of operatics and spread it to the masses"

I think Paul Potts is great and has made opera more mainstream. I did feel for him as he was so nervous but I think he was fantastic.
I am glad normal people get a break every now and then. He deserves all the luck in the world.

If he wasn't good then he wouldn't have sold millions of copies of his album already! These "opera critics" are just jumped up @rses who dont really know what they are talking about. Just because he is not Italian, does not mean that he does not have the talent. I think he has done amazingly well, a real rags to riches story. Its about time more things happened to unknown talented people like that! Fair play to him!
Its good that opera and classical music is being listened to more and people like 'Paul Potts' are bringing the music to a lot more people. But from the critics point of view, they will always make comparisons to the greats and legends. So you have to expect negativity, while they make thier criticism. But you don't have to listen to them, thats the best part!
totally agree with you that bloke was so up his own **** its only because people like us ie normal people would pay to go and see paul potts but not waste our money going to the opera they a bunch of stuck up prats

You have hit the critic on the head mate.The public knows what it likes ,we cannot be wrong can we?The critics are self important prigs who cannot sing or do it themselves and then set themselves up as gospel talent bashers ,whose words are as much use as testicles on a snake.You always get the so called experts coming out of the woodwork when someone looks like upsetting the apple cart.Paul could probably do with a tiny tweek here and there,but what a voice and what a talent.
He's ugly , no Charisma, It looks like he's sitting on the bog and ...sorry to point it out but he does slightly sings out of tune. Just like Leon from X-Factor.
