Ibanez or Epiphone?!

Question: My son wants a new hollow electric guitar. His price range is around $300. He's picked out one of each of these. My husband says Ibanez is a better cheap guitar while my dad swears by Epiphone. Input anyone?

Ibanez, my son has just expressed an interest in learning the guitar, and my partner and I have been looking into which guitar would be best for him. Although Sam insists a Les Paul custom would be the way to go!! x

definitely get the Ibanez, I have only heard good things about their products.

They are both very good guitars for the money. Your son should buy which ever one feels and plays best according to his needs.

For $300, you're not buying a high end instrument anyway.

Why go cheap? Save up a little longer and buy for quality and get the warranty to boot. Your best bet is Fender or Gibson. My cousin purchased a Gibson last Christmas (06) and by spring of '07 his neck warped due to a factory error when assembling the instrument. Gibson replaced his guitar no questions asked. His was about a $2000 guitar. Your son would be smart to go with quality.
