How can I get into acting?!
Question: I really am wanting to get into acting and have been told that I should do so. The only problem is that I don't know how to get into that field. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm pretty sure there is not any auditions or talent agencies nearby.

You can't just decide to audition, without prior training as an actor, you simply understand what to do. It's not just a matter of thinking you can act, or even have your friends tell you that it's something you might be good at, you need coaches and directors tell you that you do have talent, and recommend you to directors/casting directors.
The only way is to start at a young age and take lessons for a few years. Then you can have the experience to audition for stock and community theater. If you have a good program, you can learn so much by doing community theater, it teaches every element of acting and usually if you are good enough, the directors will put you in several shows, cause they see you regularly and know what you can do.
Summer Stock Shakespeare should be every young actors boot camp. It's fun, but also teaches you how to do Shakespeare, and if you can learn to pull of Shakespeare, you can pull off any character.
You have to stay commited, and do it all the time, and even when you aren't doing something, you have to practice monlogues on your own time. It's not as easy as standing up and pretending to be someone, there a lot more work to it than that.
Oh, and you should live in LA, or NY if eventually you want to get serious about it.

Well, if you are still in school, try out for the play or take an acting or drama class.
Screw the director, it works in Hollywood
You can get in contact with some agencies, or theatres nereby, using a phone or e-mail, ask whether they would like to check you out as a potential actress.
u wil prob hav 2 hire an agent n u hav 2 b in actin at ur skoo or watev but mosly if a scout goes 2 ur skoo if ur in drama at dat skoo also its realy xpensiv

Some good things to do are get involved in a community play or something to that effect!
Go down to your nearest local Cincinnati community theatre and try out whenever they have a play come around! :-D
see if you can't get a good agent that can send you to places that do typically hire actors.
Well if you are quite sure you want to be in acting, you can move to a place where many auditions are held (e.x burbank,ca).
But you can always start in local theaters and ask other people where they get represented.
