Just skim through it.. get the main point of the book and write something. I am guessing you are in Highschool or freshman in college... most teachers/professors don't actually look for "right" answers... just that you can read something, understand it, and develop a "thesis" and be able to support it. No need to panic :)
watch the movie. its probably not the same thing but close enough. and the movie isnt that boring or ask someone to tell you about the book or movie.
