Answers: I was one of the first legal C b ers in the 80's!!

i started out CB Radio, and made some good friends, but i moved on to Amateur Radio.

i know Amateur Radio is a live well, and active. do a m3 licence and you can use the amateur bands

sure i think so

yep i knew a girl who had to use one for a girl scout project.

CB is very popular among narrowboat owners, even though almost everyone has a mobile, there are places on the canal system where you cannot get a signal. Great for summoning help in case of a problem or to let the rest of the cruise know that you`ll be at the bar in 10 minutes.

i know someone who still uses an amateur radio. of course truckers still use cb radios, i imagine.

10/4 good buddy

CB was a fad, which died when it was legalised. Those, who were serious users, seem to have graduated to Radio Hammery.

CB, in the UK and Europe was really killed off, along with he manufacturers, by Motorola, who introduced cheap and cheerful PMR in 1989. The radios provided better facilities than CB and much better reliability. Within 6 weeks of launch, most manufacturers in that niche went to the wall.

Today, it is possible to buy professional quality PMR and cheaply license the units, with no training, or qualification, for quite nominal sums.

Texting and Mobile Phones have largely taken up where CB crashed.
