Freddie Mercury's wild side, and his SHY side...which was more dominant?!

Question: Guys, sorry for all these questions about Queen, but I just love them that's all! Especially Freddie. So here is another interesting question about Freddie's personality! Everyone who loves him knows what he was like in concerts. But not everyone knows that offstage his personality was so different.
DRAMATICALLY different! It was almost as if Freddie didn't know how to deal with people in real life, unless he was very close to them. He certainly wasn't an extrovert but more of an introvert. This really showed in his earlier (70's) interviews.
Although he seemed to overcome this a little more in his later years. But in his younger years, Freddie seemed so unsure of himself offstage. In the early Queen interviews Freddie seemed almsot embarassed and so shy. Also everyone thinks that John was the shy one. But Freddie IMO seemed more shy and quiet than John offstage! So my question is which side of Freddie do you think was more dominant? His extrovert side or his shy one?

His shy side.
In order for him to ever get in front of people on stage he had to draw attention away from him as a person and allow people to see him as a character on stage. Being this character allowed him to be the performer he became. This is the reason for the black nail polish, the gloved hand, the outlandish clothes, the antics he performed on staged. It all covered up who he really was...a quiet, shy reserved individual who was kind, caring, and respectful of others He even said so himself! In an interview he said he was comletely different onstage and off. He said the person you saw onstage wasn't him but a character he created and people were always in disbelief when they finally met him.

Absolutely his extrovert, or he'd never have gotten on stage.

Hm, interesting question.
Honestly, I think his shy side wins.
His on stage persona was just that, a character.
He was definitely flamboyant and different than the norm in real life,
but I think his introverted side wins...
especially back in like...the early to mid seventies,
when he still seemed so unsure of himself.

Definitely the shy side!
