Clarinet question! clarinet players out there! alto clarinet players especially!!


Question: okay. well i am normallyi a brass, and string player. i have pretty much no experience with woodwinds. EXCEPT. last year in band i borrowed an oboe from the school. went out to the local music store, paid twelve bucks for one frickin reed, and then. uh. broke it in like two hours of playing. i could get a sound, a very soft sound but a goose like sound but yeah. okay so anyway.

i play french horn currently after a switched from the trumpet to it. i am a very experienced band player and play varieties of instruments such as the guitar and pennywhistle and such bbut yeah, okay, i watned to switch to the alto clarinet since it is such a unique instrument, but then again i was recommended to start on the clarinet. any alto clarinet players out there? is it hard instrument or ... cuase we just had a flute switch to a bass clarinet. WHOA. yeah. soo best answer i will choose asap!

I play clarinet. I LOVE IT! It's easy to learn, but hard to perfect. Which looks like just what you need! I've been playing for 4 years and I still have much to do. There's so much to do! -cheers- Choose clarinet! Oh, and make sure you name it. So you can get attached. I named mine Claire, and I also know clarinets named Billy, OOhbon, Julio, and Chaz. Claire and Billy are dating. (inside joke) But what I do not recommend is getting a heap one, or inexpensive one. I got mine used and it workd great. But matienence is the tough part!
