The band I represent had some gear stolen prior to going on stage, is the club r!

Question: IVE READ THAT THE CLUB IS RESPONSIBLE TO REPLACE ANY GEAR SINCE IT WAS STOLEN FROM INSIDE THEIR PREMICE AND THEY ARE INCHARGE OF SECURITY THERE. IVE ALSO READ IT IS THE BANDS INSURANCE THAT WOULD PAY TO REPLACE THE GEAR. SO IM UP IN THE AIR ON THIS ONE!!

Check the rider you signed when you booked the gig. Read all the 'fine print'. You and the band are probably responsible for anything that happens to the equipment. If there is no rider, then you might get the club to pay for the damages. Short of a fire, or water damage resulting from a fire. Protection of the band's assets/equipment is up to the band and their management. At least we caught the guy who tried to steal the band's equipment (couple of guitars). Locked him in the back of the band's truck 'til the cops got there. Literally caught red-handed.

I would think your insurance would cover it.

If my purse is stolen in a club I wouldn't (and couldn't) hold the club responsible....seems like what happened to your band is the same idea just on a bigger scale.

Sorry that happened, though.
