Guitar guidance?!


Question: Helloim thinking of taking up the acostic guitar, but need somethings clear up first.

is their any real difference between a 3/4 guitar and a full size? Does it matter?

Should i save the money and teach myself or get lessons?

can you recommend any begining songs to start learning with?

It really doesn't matter whether it is a full size or a 3/4 guitar. I have 7 guitars, 1 of them is a 3/4 that I carry around to parks, picnics etc.

I think you are a beginner. Can you play a cycle? What is a cycle? OK, C cycle, for instance is C, Am, F & G7. If you can play a cycle, there are a lot of fun songs to play. Such as:

Where have all the flowers gone?
Poor little fool.
Dream, dream dream.
Unchanged melody, and etc.

Of course, if you can play all 36 basic chords, you should be able to play 70% of the songs ever existed.

To begin with, how about buy a book about guitar scales and take it from there. A good guitarist has to be good at guitar scales. Once you're versed at it, then go on to play chords. Playing chords is more than just strumming. Later on, you can combine your scale skill and chord together to make your playing more vividly.

Music is a development, it never ends.
