Beginners Electric Guitar?!
Question: I have been a working drummer for many years. I no longer play in a band and would like to learn guitar just to entertain myself. I will just be playing at home for fun. What price range of guitar should I invest in. I can afford up to around $1000, but don't want to spend it if that's overkill for what I plan to do. I have looked at guitars priced from $200 up to $1000, but just have no idea what is fitting for my needs. I want something that looks good, is easy to play and stays in tune. Thanks!!

look at squire, epiphone and yamaha. epiphone if you can afford it. yamaha Pacifica is probs best allround guitar for the price. look for 15 watt amp on ebay
go to a pawn shop. I am a guitarist, all i can afford is pawn shop guitars (though guitar center has nice guitars (i have a $200 acoustic yahama from there).
For starters all yu need is a good guitar with an amp. my first was a squier bullet with a fender amp buy effect pedals and experiment
I think you better go for acoustic guitar first..
i would just buy a package deal (comes with guitar, case, amp, chord, picks and such) They range from $200-$500. I think thats your best bet because you wont be playing in public, and you will get smething decent. Ibanez is a good starter kit. Check out www.musiciansfriend.com to find some good deals...
my advice, look on craigslist, its local, and you can see the guitar and play it, by meeting them in a local place. All local as you can tell
I got my guitar, amp, and guitar case allll on craigslist for $200, and its a perfect guitar!

i'm a new comer. i like to play electric guitar. Right now i play with acoustic guitar. i would like to change it to the electric guitar such as IBanez, star cruch, ar what so ever..? which one do i must prefer to better buy? other 22 frets or 24 frets?
