Why is the "OnexOne" Gala done in Toronto, Canada?!

Question: Oh I am a gigantic Matt Damon fan and found out about OnexOne through his promotions of it...and because I live in Toronto.
But Im just curious as to why the gala events are held in Toronto...I would have thought New York or LA...
Not complaining or anything. It happens next to my building lol:D
