Why people love to play Guitar?!

Question: I've played acoustic guitar since 1970, and I'm a pro-Am singer/songwriter primarily in the folk-rock and blues genre.

Why do I play the guitar? It and I have a kinship. The guitar has been there for me when friends and family have not.

I love the sounds of guitar, the way you can combine various chords and come up with new sounds. I like to do fingerwork and make the guitar "talk" as it were. Also, it's not stationary, like a piano or set of drums. You can take a guitar anyplace...and I've traveled with mine cross country....TWICE! Provides hours of entertainment and relaxation.

Overall, It's just a fun instrument which I'd recommend for anyone.

i personally like to play the drums (hand drums) cause i like making loud noise and beating the hell out of them..

I guess it looks cool, I don't know! My 14 year old is taking guitar in school and it is worse listening to someone learn! And yes, she turns up the amp so we can hear her progress.

It's the thrill of being able to be creative in front of an audience, with all the social pressure of a performer.
