It's not really following ICP, it's more like following Shangri-La (Heaven, in ICP's language). ICP believe in God and believe in heaven, they just have other words for it. A juggalo is someone who listens to insane clown posse and psychopathic records and follows what they believe in. On Insane Clown Posse's records, each of their CDs (joker cards) have a different personality and "taste" to it. Each CD helps you find the inner you in a whole different prespective. I'm not really sure how to explain it to a new person but youll just have to listen and find out for yourself I guess. People think they are horrible and trash, but no one really takes the time to get to listen to their music and read up on them. Juggalos are together thru thick and thin. It's like a gang..like the crips or bloods..except we're called juggalos...and we are always there for eachother. Being a juggalo is a type of life style, it's fun, it's crazy, we get to listen to insane music and smash eachother around and throw faygo pop all over the place and just have fun and not give a f**k. when we're listening to ICP we're in our own little world where we can just get away from life. Everyone has music they listen to for that simple reason and juggalos listen to psychopathic records.

Much of the predominant philosophy of the group stems from the Dark Carnival, a mythology that was carried as a theme in six ICP albums known as the 6 Joker's Cards.
The Juggalo subculture started in the early 1990s. As seen in other subcultures, from parallels in music came parallels in interests, style, and slang. Facepainting in the style of ICP and other Psychopathic Records artists is a common practice at Juggalo-oriented social activities.
