To help you rule out some simple problems

If not a problem with the pedal itself, it is probably a problem in your setup. Try re-wiring, by unplugging all your wires, and when you plug them back in, make sure none of them overlap or rest on each other, if you still get the noise, try plugging your guitar directly into the amplifier with all the cables to make sure it isn't one of those that is faulty.
