You can get a cream (I think it's called Emla or similar) that numbs the area but I think you can only get it on prescription

Don't think so, but if the tattoo is small enough, they can use anaesthetic cream on the area you are getting tattoed. That's what I did. Over here we call it Emla cream. Works really well, you have to leave it in a waterproof blister pack for an hour. I didn't feel a thing till the very end of the tatttoo, but at no time did it hurt. If your tattoist doesn't supply it, you should be able to get it from your pharmacy.

no afraid not, they wouldnt be licenced to administer it. if u want a tattoo that much u will put up with the pain. my son used to faint at injections now he has tattoos i say he has no excuse it was hard for him but he really wanted them and got thru it. take some painkillers (ibuprofen if ur able to take it) an hr before u have it done that helps deaden the pain a bit. also make sure to take a sugary drink like coke with u as that stopped him feeling faint. good luck.
No you can't, and why do you want to get a tattoo if you are that scared? If you really want to go ahead with it then why don't you see a hypnotherapist first and they will be able to help you to be relaxed in that situation.

Don't be scared its not that bad! I have got 10 tattoos all over my body, in some painful places and I am the biggest wuss going!
Eat something before you go and drink water . . .and don't forget to breathe!
If you are that scared of the pain, don't get the tattoo.
If you are really determined to get one then have a small one first. Your name or something simple. That way if you deal with that you know whether you can go for a larger tatt sometime.

haha thatd defeat the purpose. tats = pain. u know if u see someone who has one they have a high threshhold. if u cant handle the pain then u just dont get one, hence the reason that i dont have one :)
it is a potentally dangerous procedure, as it may cause cardiac arrest when applied incorrectly and getting into the venous bloodstream- there was just a case of fatality reported in that context. I would leave it out, if I were you. these are prescription only meds and only a registered medical practioner may apply them!

You have to suffer to get a tattoo. Its part of the ritual. all others who have tattoos had to suffer and if i find you had one done under anaesthetic, I'll scrap it off your hide with a fork. No anaesthetic then.
