I don't personally know, but I found a credible website that has a lot of details on Kurt's equipment.
He definitely favored Fender single-coil models, especially Mustangs. Fender once built him a custom guitar that was a combination Mustang and Jaguar -- "JagStang".
Here's what my source says about the Nevermind album:
"His main amp was a Mesa/Boogie Studio 22. He also used a Fender Bassman on about four songs and a Vox AC30 for some clean tracks."
So I recommend a Fender single-coil guitar with an amp that does the AC30 thing, if not the real thing.
