Why do radio DJs wear headphones?!

Question: Just curious

Answers: Just curious

In the business it's called "monitoring". Either with heaphones or speakers or both, what they are essentially doing is hearing exactly what you are (the radio listener) through their headphones. Otherwise, they wouldn't really hear the music and they wouldn't hear what their voice sounded like at all (besides hearing themselves talk normally into the microphone).

Basically, they are "monitoring" themselves, to hear what their program sounds like to others

to hear the music as they talk over the intros...and to help gauge the proper mix of the volumes of the music and their 'raps'...

you see...once you turn the microphone on to talk...the monitor speakers are muted to avoid feedback and the only way the announcers can hear the music is through their 'pans'

To hear the song before you do, that they are about to mix, so that they get it on time.

Radio DJs wear headphones so they can hear what is being broadcast. When the microphone goes on, all external speakers in the room mute, so that the only thing projected onto the air is the music/microphone that you have on.

So the only way to hear themselves along with the song volume, pitch and making sure everything is going on without error is to have the headphones on.

maybe they have best control with headphones and some time it is for him business
