What is the difference between dvd and blue-ray disc......?!

Question: Just read all the uninformative answers so far. NOW... here's the difference. Standard DVD players use a red light laser. Blue ray DVD players use a blue light laser. The Difference? The blue light laser has a shorter vwavelength than the red light laser, allowing for more data to be stored on the disk. More storage means that movies with higher definition can be copied onto DVD's. It also means that computers can use them to store more information.

Blue-Ray is a high definition DVD made by Sony. There is a competitor made by Toshiba (I think) called HD-DVD. But it will not have the same fate as Beta.

Play Station 3 plays Blue Ray DVD. And they make Blu-Ray DVD players. If you don't have a HD TV, then you don't need it. You don't NEED it anyways, but it does look really good. And the sound quality is awesome.

Blu ray is a Hi Definition disc

high definition, a new way to view a movie, great.

Blue ray has a better quality than a dvd and there is more extras and better graphics. you can use a normal dvd player with them.
Hope that helps
