Starting drums?!
Question: when starting drums what can you do you help progress quickly in getting better all the time?
After years on drumming on my lap i thought it was time to try out actual drums lol =]
i can do the hi hat, snare and bass drum at once
what else should i start doing? =]

Well, it depends also what kind of music you want to play. For instance. Death metal, you want to practice blasts beats as soon as you start. Also learn simple drum patterns. And practice with a metronome. Helps you learn fills later, and the more you are "on" a beat, the better you will sound with out the metronome. Also rudiments, like a paradidle. On your snare drum you will use your right, and left hand.you will do, (right, left right right. left, right, left, left.) both hands should hit the snare the same way. hope that helps.
