Im Going to start My Own Band, but I want it to Be unique, HELP!?!
Question: So im in 9th and me and a couple of friends are going to start a band. Heres what we got, Me-Songwriter(maybe vocals) MArty-Bass, and Ben-drums... we still need a lead. But how can I make this band unique?

Unique? Well how you play whether you have good stage presence or you just like to mess around.
That's what happened to my old band. We just messed around never got anything done.
Good things to have is to never worry about your band name so much but worry about timing and connecting all the parts to make a beautiful song.

Why would you want to do that?
It's too difficult coming up with unique music. Everything that you will think of, will have already been done.
add like a lil somethin somethinnnn.

Write your own music, and make a sound thats different than others. If you want to be original try not to be influenced by other bands.
Good luck, there are so many bands out there...so many different types of music...
Add another instrument, like a trumpet, violin, accordion. It may sounds dumb but that will make it your sound.
Use your own songs, dont sing other bands' songs.
Touch topics that arent usually sung about.
There are already too many songs about heartbreak and death...
Don't fall into mainstream sounds, be creative.
& stage presence is everything.
have a unique instrument in it like a flute or a oboe. that would be very unique and cool =]

Make it unique by making up songs that are strange, but creative. People will start looking up to you guys as a new songwriter. This will start a new way of music!
well, asking other people how to be unique kinda defeats the whole purpose, doesn't it?
try drafting someone with an instrument with a never-before herd name, as the "Circular Harp"
or you could even create your own instrument!
Name the band after an american literature novel, like "Ethan Frome" or something like that.
To make your band unique, just be YOU. Come up with a great name that actually means something. If you're gonna be selling CDs, get some cool artwork for the covers. Make a logo for yourself. Write some unique, meaningful songs, not like most of the garbage you here these days. And most importantly be YOURSLEVES.

well all in all keep your music original yea some bands can influence you but dont sound like em to much :]
have a mixture of screams and soft parts but you got to have a signature thing like disturbed kind of does the one thing in down with the sickness.

you need to find a unique sound. I hope you have a voice that is unique...that is what the music industry is all about...Everyone out there that has a unique sound is what gets recognized....You need to get some really inspiring influences and feed off of their songwriting...good luck!
You have to know music and song writing. You also need a firm grip on the different music styles out there.

The way you become unique is to learn from others music.,.. learn their songs, then combine it with yourself. Play their songs at first, the way they sang it,. then,. put on the ole a la yourself into it,. Viola,. uniqueness!,. Make sure you do your thing your own way cause no more unique that spells,. hehe
You could think of a good name and make sure that the people that are in your band are in it not just kinda in it

you sort of answered your own question there mate...to make something unique is to be original and completely different...you could find out what your favorite type of music are eg: marty:- rock you:- blues ben:- country (those were jst random ones get the real ones) and then smash them together to get something like...i dont know.. bockuntry which is ermmm...a rock song instead with a acoustic rather than electric guitar ( so now ya have your rock and country) and then make it have sad lyrics. So now yo have the rocky upbeat but with the country guitar type (acoustic) but with the blues song lyrics....see its simple...and that my friend is unique...but now jst do it properly lol
