Is a Fender Starcaster good for metal music???!


Question: if not, give me other suggestions..i am looking to spend in between 200-300 bucks. Someone help me out...

Btw...i am a beginner at playing guitar

i have never played one before for real.

the only experience i have playing a guitar is guitar hero..lol

I have a strat and yes you can play metal. But a gibson les paul or the epiphone version of the les paul looks a lot cooler and the pickups sound better for that style. Mostly though its all in the efects pedal. Remember that when your going to the the pedal. The guitar is more about personal style preference. Oh and money...

Well not really, most metal players use pickups that are humbuckers, or those that have two bunched together. This is to get that crunchy sound on the guitar. I would go with an Ibanez or a shecter, dean, B.C. Plus, the look of these brands of guitars look metal, Check them out!!!

Strats are fine. at that price range your best bet is going to be to just go to a music store or pawn shop, play around with some of the used ones and find one you like. Make sure the neck is good (hold it to your eye and make sure there is no bow in it) before you buy any.
